Barn swallows

Barn swallows

These athletic little birds migrate to our area to spend the summer.  Now dependent on human-built structures for nesting, they look for safe, high places to construct their mud and hair nests.  They will raise up to two clutches of 4-5 hatchlings a season. Barn swallows provide a service to people by eating insects.
