Our Natural Heritage

The Pacific Northwest is endowed with a great variety of beautiful plants that have nurtured both wildlife and people. From the western coastal areas to the mountains to the eastern desert and shrub-steppe, native plant habitat provides food and shelter for diverse insects, animals, fish, and birds. We can all appreciate our natural heritage by visiting the wild lands where these plants thrive, and by enhancing our yards with suitable native plants. Visit the Washington Native Plant Society at www.wnps.org to learn more!
